For his high school education, he attended Westlake High School where he was known for his exemplary academic efforts. It was here that he began his journey in the world of athletics. He played for the school football team and was one of the best players of his time. He racked up an impressive 3,278 rushing yards and 43 touchdowns. Thanks to his contributions, he was twice honored with the All-Marmonte League and received an All-Ventura County honor in his senior year.
