On July 23, 2002, he released his debut studio album Mario via J Records and it peaked at #3 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard) chart and at #9 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Also, the album was certified ‘Gold’ by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
