John Frank Stossel is an American libertarian television personality, author, mainstream journalist, and physician best known for his careers on ABC News and Fox Business Channel. Stossel's style combines report and commentary. It reflects a liberal political philosophy and economic views, largely in favor of free markets. He began his journalistic career as a researcher for KGW-TV, as a mainstream reporter for WCBS-TV in New York, then joined ABC News as editor, consumer and reporter for Good Morning America. Stossel became an ABC News reporter, joined the 20/20 news magazine's weekly schedule, becoming co-director. In October 2009, Stossel left ABC News to join Fox Business Channel. He hosted a weekly Fox Business news show, Stossel, from December 2009 to December 2016. Stossel received 19 Emmy Awards and five from the National Press Club.
