Raashaun Casey, better known by his stage name DJ Envy, is an American disc jockey and socialite, best known for being one of the three hosts on the radio show The Breakfast Club . He is also known for his high quality hip hop music recordings and his roles in films. His breakout compilation album The Desert Storm Mixtape: Blok Party, Vol. 1 It was a critical success, facing him in the hip-hop industry. His skills have allowed him to produce music not only for himself but also for other artists such as Fabolous, Foxy Brown, DMX and Joe Budden. He was also involved in the production of the soundtrack for Cradle 2 the Grave , a film in which he played a role.

The talented DJ was born on the 3rd of September 1977 in Queens, New York where he grew up with his siblings. His interest in music grew in the early years of his life as he began devoting his time to the pursuit of the goal. He graduated from Hampton University in Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

It was in the mid-1990s that DJ Envy began his A foray into the hip-hop world thanks to neighborhood acquaintance Ernesto Shaw and DJ Clue. Shaw was responsible for introducing Raashaun to the mixtape circuit so DJ Envy could try his hands at compiling music and creating commercial sounds. His involvement allowed Envy to increase his rank and by the early 2000s he was able to work with big hip-hop names like 50 Cent and Jay-Z. He was later signed to DJ Clues Desert Storm Records. He was featured on the radio show Hot 97 Take It to the Streets mixing for it once a month. It was hosted by Angie Martinez until he stood in for her when she became pregnant. He took it one step further when he became a co-host on the radio station’s morning show with Miss Jones. That stint as co-host ended in July 2008 when Miss Jones moved to Philadelphia.

Envy then went on to perform his own shows playing his mixes and the latest music. The Folk Mix and New from 2 on Hot 97, Hip-Hop Nation’s afternoon show on Sirius XM radio and a weekend show on Power 105. On the 6th December 2010, he joined Angela Yee and Charlamagne the God for the Power 105- to host show The Breakfast Club .

The DJ has made several appearances on television; from music videos to TV shows 106 & Park. He has released a record entitled Still a Fan with songwriter and producer Rico Love. He co-hosts a podcast with his wife Gia called The Casey Crew . They talk about the ups and downs one encounters in family and relationships.
