Biography and age of Darius Rucker
It was on May 13, 1966 that he was born as Darius Carlos Rucker in Charleston, South Carolina. Although one could easily assume that he grew up with music because his father was a member of the gospel band Rolling Stone, his father had very little influence in his life as he was raised by his mother in the alongside his five other siblings. In fact, growing up, he had very little contact with his father of whom he saw very little.
Apart from his mother, another person who helped raise him was his grandmother since his mother who was a nurse had to work. Still, that didn’t stop him from seeing great poverty as a child, sharing a three-bedroom apartment with his aunts and other children, totaling nearly 20.

The band went on to release 5 studio albums. The first, Cracked Rear View, was released in 1994 and it was a huge hit, topping the Billboard charts in the US and it recorded a diamond certificate in the US and Canada, while it had a gold in the UK with platinum in Australia.
