According to the DPS, the plane crash was reported around 11:40 a.m. near the intersection of County Road 7300 and 2500.
The DPS further stated that the aircraft involved was a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron 58, which took off from the Lubbock Executive Airpark at around 11:38 a.m.
Unfortunately, it crashed about three-quarters of a mile northwest of the runway shortly after takeoff.

The pilot, identified as Blake Christie from Lavon, was flying a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron 58, which crashed shortly after taking off from Lubbock Executive Airpark.

26-Year-Old Pilot Killed In Lubbock Plane Crash
A fatal plane crash occurred on Friday morning near the Lubbock Executive Airpark, resulting in the pilot’s death, Tyler Blake Christie, a Lavon resident of 26 years.
The Textron Aviation-Beechcraft Barron 58P twin-engine aircraft that Christie was piloting crashed less than a mile northwest of the airpark.
The Department of Public Safety report states that the crash site was located on County Road 2500 between East County Road 7300 and 7200.

The recent crash in Lubbock was reported at 11:40 a.m. on Friday. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have taken over the investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
According to the preliminary report, the plane took off from the Lubbock Executive Airpark only two minutes before the crash at 11:38 a.m.
Unfortunately, the aircraft caught fire, and Christie could not exit the plane. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:06 p.m.
